Tweed Green, Peebles
PEEBLES
Peebles in the Scottish Borders offers spectacular scenery, shopping, cafes, events and outdoor activities. It lies on the confluence of the River Tweed and Eddleston Water, locally called ‘the Cuddy’.
Initially a market town, it played a key role in the Borders woollen industry during the 19th and 20th centuries.

To get to the High Street, top up from the tap first then head west along Tweed Green and enjoy riverside views of the River Tweed, a 90 mile waterway that is one of Scotland’s most renowned and celebrated fishing rivers.

John Buchan Way
For those with an adventurous side, Peebles is a hub for outdoor pursuits including fishing, walking, mountain biking, road cycling and much more.
Indeed the John Buchan Way – a 22km route between Peebles and Broughton – is becoming one of Scotland’s most popular short walks

Neidpath Castle
History buffs will be in their element with Neolithic, Roman and Medieval sites all within a stone’s throw of the centre. Neidpath Castle a 14th century tower house, is just a 15 minute stroll east along the River Tweed, where tours and teas are available all year round by appointment. Look out for one of the fabled fireplaces big enough to roast an ox.

Glentress Forest
Glentress Forest, located just on the outskirts of Peebles, is a spectacular forest that is home to some of the best purpose-built mountain biking trails in the country and a range of stunning walking tracks. The biking trails span over 50 mile, with trails for everyone from blue beginner’s routes to black routes for the more advanced dare devils.
